Individual Retirement Account (IRA) owners in the USA, please note! The Pension Protection Act of 2006, includes a provision permitting charitable rollovers (contributions) from individual retirement accounts (IRAs). For the remainder of 2006, and throughout 2007, individuals aged 70½ and older can make charitable gifts directly from their IRA accounts. The gifts are limited to a maximum of $100,000 in each year, and must be made directly to a charitable organization like 24/7 Ministries (gifts to donor advised funds and charitable trusts do not qualify). Because the distribution is made directly from the IRA account to charity, it does not trigger federal or state income taxes to the IRA owner. The new legislation presents a unique short-term window for giving opportunities through IRA accounts, for individuals aged 70½ and above. You can arrange to have your IRA issue a transfer of funds by check, payable and mailed to: 24/7 Ministries 24/7 Ministries 501(c)(3) Federal Tax Id Number is 81-0671732. Please contact your Financial Planner or contact 24/7 Ministries should you need more information! Here's a weblink for more information online from MarketWatch (be patient, it may take a moment to load). |
